ABOUT
Tracey Annette Cottingim is an American painter born and raised in Northern California where she has lived most of her life. A self taught artist and painter, her style is described as original. Offering offering vibrant colors, expressive brush strokes and custom colors mixed and painted on canvas.
Painting boldly and vividly with emotions in use of color, she will layer acrylic and may add modeling paste to give it a 3D effect.
INSPIRATION
Her inspiration is captured from her time spent living in Arizona, California, and many visits to Hawaii. Traveling to the islands of the Bahamas and Jamaica, she enjoyed seeing art that was painted in bright colors. Her travel to the French Polynesian islands introduced her to the artworks of French artist and post-impressionist painter Henri Paul Guaguin. She loves his bold experimentation of color. She is also inspired by the creativity of Vincent van Gogh for the emotional intensity of his vision and sense of color.
MEDIUMS
Acrylic heavy body paint, layered with or without Matte Gel. Use of modeling paste in some paintings.
And oil painting.
