About the artist
My name is Tracey, a Sacramento, CA native who lives, works and plays in East Sacramento. I enjoy the big trees, walking and hiking paths along the American River bike trail, and the close proximity to Bodega Bay and Lake Tahoe.
I have always loved art! As a youngster, I made use of the neighborhood park activity center. They would dole out large craft paper along with paint brushes and paint to keep me busy. Little did I know that I would carry this into painting on pottery, painting the interior of my home, and now painting art.

What mediums I use
Acrylic
I primarily use acrylic on canvas. I love acrylic paint because it dries quickly, allowing me to easily layer different contrasting colors more efficiently on my paintings. I enjoy using heavy body acrylic paint.
I protect all of my paintings so they last a lifetime. After the painting has dried, I apply a protective clear coating called “varnish” to protect every body of work from exposure to harsh light and dust. Not only does varnish protect the painting from light and dust, varnish also intensifies the colors of the paint!
Oil
For commissions, I am happy to use oil! Feel free to send me an email about commissioning a custom painting for your office or home.
Inspiration
I often draw my inspiration from the natural beauty of Northern California’s diverse terrain. I love hiking with my rescue dog, Raider (a cattle dog mix with a big personality). While I’m on the trail, I observe the rich, striking colors of reds, oranges, purples, and earth tones. I admire the vibrant colors of the native plants, from golden poppies, to the gentle hues of lavender, to the ever changing skyline.
There is beauty all around us. I love using bold colors with diverse use of strong textures to capture my vision on canvas.
